Moira Metcalfe

Since qualifying in 1976, 1 year foundation in York followed by BA hons 3 years in North Staffs Polytechnic, Moira has pursued her artistic career alongside her life in the Yorkshire Dales, the principal influence on her work.

Moira opened a studio/gallery 25 years ago and since that time her work has evolved from watercolour (including watercolour on silk) to the predominantly oil based canvasses that she now produces.

Moira  was one of the founder members of the "Women off the Wall" exhibitions held in the Dales Countryside Museum in Hawes. As well as exhibiting locally she has exhibited in Leeds, Manchester and London, the last exhibition being "Ultra" held in The Colomb Art Gallery in Marylebone, London. Moira has also recently had successful exhibitions in Switzerland and France.

Her work is currently being exhibited at Wensleydale Galleries.
